Dry ice blasting is already widely adopted in numerous industrial applications, thanks to a cleaning process that is faster and more efficient than traditional methods and to the absence of abrasives, water and chemical products.
However, traditional cryogenic equipment is often characterized by high weight, significant noise levels and high investment and operating costs, factors that have limited its diffusion.
Sublima MINI, thanks to its compact configuration, high maneuverability and reduced consumption of compressed air and dry ice, makes cryogenic cleaning finally economically accessible, while ensuring high operational performance and ease of use.
The SUBLIMA MINI dry ice blaster combines the best features of cryogenic technologies and introduces new benchmarks in terms of application flexibility, cleaning effectiveness and efficiency.
The compact design, wide operational adaptability and low weight of only 6 kg allow universal use for a broad range of cleaning needs.
The system is completely pneumatic and requires no electrical connection.
The patented Sublima MINI dry ice blaster allows accurate removal of deposits, oils, greases, organic residues and biological contamination (bacteria, molds and viruses) from most surfaces, without the use of water or aggressive chemical substances.

PROCESS EFFECTS
Mechanical / Thermal / Kinetic / Fungistatic / Sublimation
* CO2 pellets are non-toxic, sublimate upon impact (returning to their natural gaseous state in the atmosphere) and require no disposal. The cleaning action occurs through “impact removal of contaminants”; upon impact the pellet penetrates beneath the contaminant layer, shatters and creates a high-speed flow of dry ice particles that, exploding at the point of impact, lift the contaminant from the part from the inside outward.
Mechanical: dry ice pellets with a diameter of 1.5–3 mm are propelled at high speed onto the surface to be cleaned.
There is no damage to the substrate, as there is no cutting or abrasive action. Since CO2 (dry ice) sublimates, the only residue consists of the removed debris.
Thermal: the impact of pellets on the surface causes thermal shock at -78°, making the contamination brittle and separating it from the surface to be cleaned so that it can be easily removed.
Kinetic: When dry ice strikes the surface to be cleaned, it transitions from solid to gaseous state: this causes an expansion of the carbon dioxide volume of approximately 700 times, resulting in the explosive detachment of contaminants from the surface.
Fungistatic: During the transition from solid to gaseous state, carbon dioxide exerts a bacteriostatic and fungistatic action, slowing the proliferation of microbiological flora and ensuring optimal hygienic conditions.
Sublimation: Another important characteristic of dry ice is its ability to leave no moisture residue on the products it contacts. By sublimating, it produces an atmosphere saturated with carbon dioxide which, being a dry gas, tends to reduce ambient humidity without leaving any trace of water on treated surfaces. For this reason, cryogenic cleaning is recommended both in the food industry and for cleaning electrical systems.
THE ADVANTAGES of cryogenic dry ice cleaning
- Dry process
This cleaning method is a completely dry process since dry ice is composed of CO2 and therefore evaporates upon contact with the surface. Cleaning without water or steam
- No residue
The process leaves no residue. Only vacuum or collect the removed deposits.
- Eco-friendly
Dry cleaning uses no chemical substances and is completely non-toxic. There are no costs for disposal of detergents or solvents and the quantity of waste to be treated is reduced.
- Non-abrasive
Dry ice cleaning has no abrasive effect and is therefore extremely gentle on material surfaces, avoiding the typical wear of sandblasting systems or cleaning with chemicals, detergents, scrapers and metal brushes.
- Increased productivity
Maintenance downtime is reduced since disassembly and reassembly operations are no longer required. Machines can often be cleaned while in operation, increasing actual production time.
- Effective
Thanks to jet nozzles and different cleaning speeds, it is possible to clean even hard-to-reach areas without leaving detergent residues on chains and mechanical parts.
- Safe
Cryogenic blasting performed using personal protective equipment replaces traditional cleaning procedures such as sandblasting or cleaning with chlorinated or fluorinated solvents: therefore, cryogenic blasting significantly improves operator working conditions.
- Bactericidal action
Bactericidal and fungistatic cleaning
